It’s Never Too Late To Have a Happy Childhood

Traumatic childhood?

You’re not the only one.
Do you still carry around painful memories from long ago?

If yes…

I have some great news for you!

“It’s never too late to have a happy childhood”   – Tony Robbins.
You’re likely thinking….

What! ??

How is that possible?
Traumatic memories, are just that, “memories!”.   Whatever happened in the past is in the past,  but it’s our mind and imagination that continues to loop the memory
and the emotional pain. The Traumatic event is in your past, but is mentally repeating.
An you know the result, you can feel it!
That past trauma, whether it’s from your childhood or from something more recent, it’s causing real pain, right here, right now, in the present.

What about PTSD?   The same thing.  It happened, it’s over,
and it’s time to exit the loop with a mental update.

The exit?  Mental update?  How you ask?

You interrupt the mental pattern and rewire the memory.

Here are 3 DIY methods of the many that are out there.

1. Re-wind technique.
You imagine that you are watching the
past event like a movie on a screen,  you play the movie in reverse,
and forward, and reverse, each time, speeding it up, and adding
silly music to it.   Repeat that a few times, and then notice how
your memory loses it’s emotional charge.

2. Tapping.
You think about the what happened, allow the emotions to
get strong, then tap on your face, as you repeat the words “let it go”
Tapping locations:  between the eyebrows, on the side of your eye,
below your eye, and on your collar bone.
There are many variation of this technique.  2 of the most popular ones
are known as EFT, FasterEFT.  I also have my own person version.
More on Tapping in the next blog post.

3. Splash technique.
Not sure about the name, but it works!
Line up 4 cups of cold water.  (any kind of cup, I prefer unbreakable types).
How to:   Begin in the same was as #2 above.   Visualize the past emotional
event until you really feel the pain (stress, sadness, fear, anger, whatever)
then once the emotion is strong, splash the 1 full cup of cold water on
your face.   Then repeat.  Close your eyes, go back to the experience,
until you “feel” the strong emotions, and then SPLASH! with cup #2.
You’ll find that each time it becomes more and more difficult to get
access the pain of the memory.

4.  Reach out and Get help from a master of their craft.
Maybe someone like me.  Yes! That was shameless self promotion. : ))
Someone local, or even via Skype.

There are people around the globe skilled in the above techniques, and many
other methods and modalities that work as well.
Neurology, NLP, Hypnotherapy, NLP, Grapho-Therapy, ++++

The specific technique is not nearly as important as the artistry of application.
You know the saying…  It’s not what you do, but how you do it”
Just like a hair stylist with the best, most expensive scissors in the world
they can give crappy (1 star) haircuts, while a stylist with only basic tools
can deliver 5 star results.   Ideally find a Master with great tools.
Choose carefully.
